May God Bless the Daughters of Charity. The Archdiocese of Mobile celebrated the Daughters of Charity, who are departing Mobile after having served in Alabama for about 184 years! Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi celebrated Mass at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and gave a special blessing to the Daughters of Charity, before a reception at the Chancery. City of Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson also issued a proclamation recognizing the Daughters of Charity's service to Mobile. Thank you to the nearly 900 Daughters of Charity who have served in the Archdiocese of Mobile throughout their history!
Along with recognizing the Daughters of Charity, all women and men who have taken up the vocation of consecrated life were honored Sunday in conjunction with World Day for Consecrated Life.
