My name is Simon Atkinson and I am going into my second year of seminary at St Bens Seminary College located in Covington, LA. I was born in Shreveport, LA, but due to my dad being in the Air Force, I've lived all over the country. I'm blessed to call Saint Michael the Archangel parish in Auburn, AL my home parish, though. I graduated from Auburn High School in the class of 2021, where I played soccer, took lots of aquatic biology classes, and completed Spanish 4. During my freshman year of high school, I first felt the call to seminary, but it wasn't until two years later that I began to discern the call seriously. I began getting very involved with the youth group and other Diocesan events like SEARCH, as well as attending the monthly DYVs put on by Father Victor. It was during my senior year, however, that I applied to seminary and have since been accepted as a seminarian for the ArchMob. My favorite saint is St. Padre Pio, and my favorite spiritual reading, Send Me Your Guardian Angel, just so happens to be about him. Growing up, my favorite book series was Pendragon, which greatly varies from my spiritual book taste.
