MOBILE — The Archdiocese of Mobile Department of Catholic Education is pleased to announce that Dillon Stein has been named the new director of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry.
Stein has served as director of youth ministry at Christ the King Parish in Daphne since 2019. The parish has one of the most active youth ministry programs in the Archdiocese of Mobile, having up to 100 young people at its weekly events. Prior to arriving at Christ the King Parish, Stein served as assistant director of youth ministry at St. Lawrence Parish in Fairhope from 2017-2019.
“I was in middle school when I first met a youth minister who really impacted my life. I’ve had the benefit of knowing awesome youth ministers and priests who have shown me what it is to be a disciple of Christ and to invite others into that relationship,” Stein said. “It was a hard choice to leave Christ the King (Parish) behind, but I know the Lord is inviting me to serve the archdiocese in a new capacity. I’m excited to help build the Kingdom of Heaven through our youth ministry program.”
Stein also studied as an Archdiocese of Mobile seminarian from 2015-17 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theological Studies from St. Joseph Seminary College before focusing on youth ministry.
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry provides resources, training, formation and support for parish youth ministry programs and leaders throughout the archdiocese.
The office also spearheads several youth conferences throughout the year.
“I’m delighted with (Department of Catholic Education Mr. Chad Barwick’s) choice of Mr. Stein as the new Archdiocesan Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. Both as a former seminarian of the archdiocese and in more recent years serving in parish ministries, especially youth ministry, Mr. Stein has demonstrated his admirable maturity, talents, and dedication,” Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi said.
