FAIRHOPE - St. Michael Catholic High School in Fairhope is thrilled to announce that it has received gifts from anonymous donors that will enable the school to complete the construction of the football/soccer stadium. Construction broke ground in June 2023, and using funds collected during the “Bringing Our Cardinals Home” capital campaign, was to be finished with only the field and lighting, but will now be completed with Home and Visitor stands, bathrooms, and a concession stand. The new complex will be ready for athletic contests at the start of the 2024 season.
Dr. Andrea Williamson, principal of St. Michael Catholic School, expressed her gratitude for this remarkable contribution, saying, "We are overwhelmed by the generosity of these anonymous donors. This gift will not only provide our students with a fantastic facility right here on our campus, but will also create lasting memories for our entire Catholic school community. We are profoundly thankful for this act of kindness and dedication to our school."
David Offerle, co-athletic director at St. Michael Catholic School, shared his excitement about the upcoming stadium project, stating, "This will transform the athletic experience for our students. With a new stadium, we will be able to host games, events, and tournaments that were previously beyond our reach. It's a game-changer for our athletes and our school."
The new football/soccer stadium will include:
Stands: Comfortable seating for students, parents, and fans to enjoy games and events. Bathrooms: Modern restroom facilities that will enhance the convenience and comfort of attendees. Concession Stand: A fully equipped concession stand offering a variety of refreshments for spectators during games and events.
St. Michael Catholic High School extends its heartfelt thanks to the anonymous donors for their extraordinary generosity, which will leave a lasting legacy and provide countless opportunities for our students and the Fairhope community.
