By JOHN ROBB For The Catholic Week At the first Christmas, three Wise Men traveled across hundreds of miles of desert to Bethlehem just to see the Infant Jesus (Matthew 2.1-12).
How much easier is it for us to go to Mass to receive Jesus’s actual Body and Blood, the Eucharist? The Wise Men saw Jesus just once. We can receive him every day.
They gave Jesus expensive gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. In His Sacraments, Jesus gives us much more precious gifts: forgiveness, mercy and love. Yes, we are truly more blessed than the Magi at the first Christmas!
Invite the inactive Catholics in your life to rediscover Christmas’s true joy. Invite them to Mass and our Advent season events to prepare to receive the Christ child.
Invite them to Confession to personally receive Christ’s forgiveness, mercy and love. Invite them also to Catholics Returning Home.
This time-tested six-week series welcomes home inactive baptized Catholics to rediscover the true joy of Christmas and the sacramental gifts Our Lord brings us.
Dress is casual and there is no cost or obligation to participate further. See the CRH ad on page 6 with contact information for this season’s host and sponsor parishes.
