By The Catholic Week MOBILE — Nearly $100,000 was raised Aug.13 to support the Archdiocese of Mobile's 16 seminarians at the fourth annual Seminarian Summer Gala at the Dolly Barranco Center at Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School.
About 25 priests from throughout the archdiocese donned aprons and served as waiters for the dinner. Proceeds raised will go toward seminarian education as it costs almost $55,000 for one year of a seminarian’s formation.
Patrons enjoyed a meal made by chefs Fr. Alex Valladares, pastor of St. Bede the Venerable Parish, and Fr. Nicholas Napolitano, pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Magnolia Springs.
