Rev. Patrick J. Britt, S.S.F., celebrated 15 years in the priesthood at his Edmundite Mission parish on Mon Luis Island.
Rev. Msgr. David Sullivan, pastor of Little Flower parish, was named head of the Priests’ Senate of the diocese.
Sr. Mary Josephine Benoit, D.C., was appointed Director of Nursing at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
Spring chappeau designed by Mrs. Inez Herman was the main feature of the Fashion Shop, modeled by Mrs. William Carroll at the Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of Peter Claver Drexel Court, No. 1, Annual Tea. Beatrice Carter was serving as Grand Lady.
New Officers elected at the St. Ignatius Altar Sodality meeting were: Mrs. J. Carroll O’Neil, Jr., president; Mrs. Robert Gottleib, vice president; Mrs. George Tonsmeire, recording secretary; Mrs. Harry Brislin Jr., corresponding secretary; and Mrs. Marshall Demouy, treasurer.

There were no injuries during a three alarm fire in Spring Hill College campus. Heavily damaged was the east wing of the 136-year-ole Administration Building.
Featured speakers at the Mobile Area Jewish christian Dialogue held at St. Ignatius were Dr. Eugene Fisher, Director of Catholic-Jewish Relations for the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the National conference of Catholic Bishops and Mr. Avi Granot, counselor for Interreligious Affairs of the Israel Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Edmundite Fr. Anthony McCue died at the Edmundite House in Selma.
Archbishop Oscar H. Lipscomb celebrated Mass at St. Edmund-by-the-Sea acknowledging and thanking publicly Fr. Paul Plough, S.S.E. and all the Edmundites who had served the area for more than 50 years.
Mc-Gill-Toolen High School honored its many volunteers at a “Hot Diggity Dog” luncheon. Special recognition went to: Kenny Crow, Jr., Alumni Volunteer of the year; Margaret Bender and Mimsy Perrien, Parent volunteers of the Year; and Emil Graf, board Volunteer of the Year.
Nell Carr was crowned Miss Cathedral Place for 1995 at the Valentine and Birthday Party held on Valentine’s Day at Cathedral Place.
