By The Catholic Week
The Archdiocese of Mobile’s annual celebration for the Feast of Christ the King will be adjusted this year due to COVID-19.
The celebration normally includes a Rosary procession through downtown Mobile before Mass at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. This year’s procession has been cancelled and Mass will now be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22 at Corpus Christi Parish in Mobile as it provides a more suitable location for social distancing.
Christ the King medals will still be awarded to a member of each parish community in the archdiocese, but due to spacing, only medalists and their three guests will be invited.
‘Called to Love’ to include virtual option
The Archdiocese of Mobile “Called to Love” women’s conference will remain in-person this year, but will also include a virtual option.
This year’s conference is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School.
In-person registration and lunch begins at noon, while the conference begins at 1 p.m. for those choosing to attend virtually.
