Deacon Crow: 'I cannot wait to be a priest'

MOBILE — The Archdiocese of Mobile will celebrate the ordination of Deacon Alexander Crow to the priesthood at 10 a.m. June 5 at the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. The Mass will be livestreamed at Facebook.com/mobilearchdiocese.
Alexander Crow will be ordained a transitional deacon at the age of 28. The Semmes native is the son of Duncan and Louise Crow and he was a parishioner at St. Ignatius Parish.
“I am extremely excited. Not a day goes by that I do not think about ordination and my first Mass,” said Deacon Crow. “I cannot wait to be a priest.”
He attended Holy Family and St. Dominic Catholic Schools before attending McGill-Toolen from 2007-11. Crow then attended Spring Hill College from 2011-12 before leaving school to become a musician.
But Crow then began discerning a call to the priesthood. He attended St. Joseph from 2014-18 and received his Master of Divinity degree from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in Indiana and a Bachelor of Sacred Theology from San Anselmo, Rome, this spring.
Crow served a summer assignment at St. Patrick Parish in Robertsdale this year. 
He has also previously served at St. Vincent de Paul in Tillman’s Corner, Holy Spirit Parish in Montgomery and St. John the Evangelist Parish in Enterprise.
He has been assigned to Corpus Christi Parish in Mobile.
“Everything!” Deacon Crow said when asked what he’s most looking forward to after ordination. “In particular, I am excited to offer the sacrifice of the Mass everyday, hear confessions and provide spiritual direction.”
