MOBILE — Fr. Manuel Williams Court No. 345 Junior and Senior Divisions at Resurrection Parish earned awards at the Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary national convention July 13-19 in New Orleans.
The Court was awarded an Early Bird Certificate and received a $500 St. Peter Claver Foundation Grant. Jr. President of the Gulf Coast District Erin-Michael Tyler was elected Junior Supreme Lady, received the Jr. Gulf Coast District Leadership Award and won First Place in the Speech Contest for Ages 13-15. Jr. Grand Lady Chelsye Leach-Peck received the Gulf Coast District Jr. Daughter of the Year Award and won first place in the Step Contest.
The Court also partnered with the National Council of Negro Women and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc/Alpha Rho Zeta Chapter in Montgomery to promote its Good Health Wins program. The program encourages everyone to be fully vaccinated.
In addition, it promotes making healthy food choices. Through this grant, parishioners received bags after a convention Mass with GHWins literature.
