Every day at Little Flower, parishioners hand out lunch to those who are homeless. The Cathedral Parish young adults group will provide toiletry bags containing toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash and deodorant. Most of the gathering of these items will be done in advance of the service day itself (if you know someone that may wish to donate any items please contact Patrick Arensberg: [email protected]).
St. Mary Catholic School is planning some renovations of classrooms in the Sisters of Mercy building. Volunteers will remove furniture from classrooms. There will be some heavy/light lifting. This project will start at 10:30 a.m. (or after the talk in St. Mary Church).
At St. Pius X Parish in Mobile, there will be power washing and other beautification projects. They will conclude by 2:00. Projects include power washing the rectory, family life center and Grotto. Weeding the grounds will also be done.
At the Sacred Heart Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor, bingo will be run by volunteers. The volunteers need to arrive at Sacred Heart Residence by 9:45 a.m. and bingo will last from 10-11 a.m. Volunteers will be dismissed after bingo and cleanup.
Also at the Sacred Heart Residence, there will be volunteers who help carry trays to the table for residents and then help to clean up after lunch. Volunteers would need to arrive by 11:30 a.m. and will be finished around 1 p.m.
