Catholic Young Adults of Montgomery is a ministry of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry in the Archdiocese of Mobile. CYAM is vibrant deanery-wide organization engaging young Catholics in Montgomery and the surrounding region. The Catholic Young Adults of Montgomery seek to unite young adults to Jesus and His Church, so as to provide a place of belonging and a real relationship with God through catechesis, fellowship, charity, and sacraments.
Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Mobile and the Knights of Columbus, we provide a variety of opportunities for fellowship, faith formation, and spiritual growth for young adults from all parishes in the River Region area.
We hold group events focused primarily on faith formation, called Brewing the Faith; Small Groups, focused on forming and strengthening personal relationships; and various Social Events focused primarily on fellowship. As we grow, we hope to be able to offer opportunities for service projects as well, which will focus on giving back to the community in tangible ways through works of mercy.

Many young adults today have moved to new cities to pursue their careers, away from their family, friends, and parish. Most go to Mass at a new church and have no one to sit with and feel alone. We all crave and need community. Small groups are a way to build relationships and friendships with other young Catholics who are in similar places in life by getting to know others on a deeper level and be challenged to grow in their faith together. While it may be intimidating to join a group where you do not know anyone, we ask that you commit to the group you sign up for for the whole semester (Spring: Jan-May; Summer: May-Aug; Fall: Aug-Dec) to get the most out of your group. Small groups are also great for those who are busy because they take very little time. Groups typically meet for about an hour and a half every other week.
For the Spring 2023 semester, we are offering one women’s group and one mixed group during Lent. Please sign up using the “Small Group Registration” form on this page.
Small group meetings kickoff the week of February 26-March 4. This is when you will meet your leader and other group members and get more details about your group, so it is very important that you are there. You will receive an email from your group leader after you sign up with the location for your first meeting which will take place the following week.
“Brewing the Faith” is a fun and casual meeting where young adults gather to enjoy each other’s company over dinner and drinks while exploring various issues relevant to the Catholic faith. Guest speakers include both religious and lay members who discuss a wide range of topics, providing a space for intelligent conversation and growing in the faith.
