By The Catholic Week FAIRHOPE — St. Michael Catholic High School principal Faustin Weber will depart the school at the end of the first quarter, Oct. 14, and begin a position in the Dallas, Texas, area.
Weber previously stated his plans to leave at the end of the 2022-23 school year. Archdiocese of Mobile Superintendent of Catholic Schools announced that Paul Knapstein will serve as interim principal after the first quarter.
Knapstein has served as vice principal and athletic director at St. Michael since 2016 and has worked in the Archdiocese of Mobile since 2008.
A national search for a permanent principal for the 2023-24 school year will begin this fall, Byrd stated.
Weber began at St. Michael in 2015, a year before the school opened.
