Congratulations to Sr. Mary Michael Di Palma of the Incarnate Word SsEW, who made her perpetual profession of vows for the Sister Servants of the Eternal Word on Sept. 7 during Mass at the Casa Maria Convent and Retreat House in Irondale. Bishop Steven J. Raica, bishop of Birmingham celebrated the Mass.
Sr. Mary Michael is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack Di Palma, a 1998 graduate of St. Ignatius Catholic School, 2002 graduate of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School and 2006 graduate of Spring Hill College.
The Sister Servants of the Eternal Word require one year of postulancy, two years novitiate and a minimum of five years in temporary profession before perpetual vows.
The Sister Servants of the Eternal Word was founded by Mother Mary Gabriel Long in 1987. The community is “committed to evangelization through catechesis and retreats, according to the ideals of St. Francis and St. Dominic.”
