Congratulations to Caroline Picard – now Sister Caroline – who entered into the novitiate with the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother on July 16 in Santander, Spain.
Sister Caroline is a 2019 graduate of McGill-Toolen Catholic High School. She is the daughter of Larry and Kelly Picard, parishioners of St. Ignatius Parish in Mobile.
Sister Caroline was one of 17 women to enter into the novitiate during a Mass celebrated by Fr. Rafael Alonso Reymundo, the founder of the order. Sister Caroline received her habit and a scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel that she will wear.
The Sister Servants of the Home of the Mother are a relatively new order, having been approved by the Church in 1994, but there are more than 100 Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother in 15 communities across Spain, the United States, Italy and Ecuador. Each has its own activities and apostolate.
