By The Catholic Week MOBILE—The Sisters of the Visitation invite you to attend the annual celebration of the Feast of Divine Mercy on the grounds of their Monastery on Sunday, April 24.
This will be the first public Divine Mercy celebration since 2019 due to COVID-19.
Here is the exact wording of the Divine Mercy promise given by Christ to Faustina:
“Our Lord Jesus said, The soul that will go to confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day, the floodgates through which graces flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet … Mankind will have no peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.” —Saint Faustina, Diary, 699
This grace-filled day begins with Confessions at 1:30 p.m. and will be heard until 3 p.m. Adoration, Benediction and the Rosary will begin at 2 p.m. At 3 p.m., the “Hour of Great Mercy,” the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be recited with the Sacred Liturgy to follow.
The celebrant will be Fr. Norbert Jurek, chaplain of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Student Center at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
You are encouraged to pray the Novena of Divine Mercy in preparation for this great Feast. The Novena begins on Good Friday. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs, if possible. The Visitation Monastery is located at 2300 Springhill Ave., Mobile, AL., 36604.
