25 Years Ago The Rev. George O. Twellimeyer, S.J., former Spring Hill College professor of chemistry died in Tampa. A funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph’s Chapel on the SHC campus.
Msgr. Joseph Jennings, founding pastor of Our Savior Parish in Mobile, and Fr. Russell Biven, pastor, broke ground for the new parish church. Architect was Bruce Knodel and contractors were Norman Walton and John Pate. More than 500 parishioners attended.
Letters of intent were signed by McGill-Toolen students Lindsay Stuardi (basketball, Spring Hill College); Kristie Black (softball, the University of Alabama); and Dannese Littles (volleyball, Auburn University).
Nationally acclaimed speaker and media personality Char Vance was guest speaker at Little Flower Parish, Mobile, prior to the Eucharistic Healing Mass.

The 65th annual Field Day was held at the Texas Street Recreation Center. Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 people attended. St. Ignatius School won the Red Group Division and Little Flower School was the winner in the Blue Group.
