Long named executive director of financial services

Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi announced on Feb. 20 that Gia S. Long has been appointed as the Executive Director for Financial Services for the Archdiocese of Mobile, beginning March 24.
Below is a statement from ​the archbishop:

I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Gia S. Long has been appointed as the Executive Director for Financial Services for the Archdiocese of Mobile. This appointment will begin on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Mrs. Long’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Accounting from the University of Alabama. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mrs. Long brings a wealth of experience to this position. She currently serves as the Executive Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer at Riviera Utilities where she has been employed since 2013. 
Mrs. Gia Long is married to Mr. Donnie Long and they have two children who are in college. She has served on the Archdiocese of Mobile Finance Council since 2018, is a parishioner at Christ the King Parish in Daphne and is a former St. Michael Catholic High School parent. 
I thank Mrs. Michele C. Smith for her twelve years of dedicated and talented service. Her efforts have been a great blessing to all of the people of the Archdiocese of Mobile. I look forward to the Department of Financial Services continuing to help shepherd the finances of the archdiocese under the capable leadership of Mrs. Long.
