40 Days for Life campaign’s kickoff rally Aug. 29

MOBILE — The 40 Days for Life campaign returns to Mobile beginning Sept. 23. It will include 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil and community outreach, according to local campaign coordinators Mae and Chris Rehm.
Before the campaign begins, there will be a “Cast the Vision Rally” at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 in the Women’s Resource Center parking lot, 718 Downtowner Loop W., in Mobile.
Pro-life speaker Sarah Eubanks, a member of pro-life activist Abby Johnson’s ministry “And Then There Were None,” will serve as guest speaker at the rally.
40 Days for Life is a peaceful, highly-focused, non-denominational initiative that focuses on 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities, and grassroots educational outreach. The 40-day time frame is drawn from examples throughout Biblical history.
All prayer vigil participants are asked to sign a statement of peace, pledging to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all times.

Catholics Returning Home returns this fall
The 113th consecutive Catholics Returning Home series will kick off after Labor Day to answer their questions and help inactive Catholics start fresh. Because the gatherings include small groups, it will expected to be relatively easy to comply with all appropriate health guidelines.
Nineteen area parishes are co-sponsoring weekly CRH sessions at two area parishes: St. Columba in the Dothan Deanery and St. Peter the Apostle in the Mobile Deanery.
There are no fees, dress codes or obligation to commit further.
Yet, returning Catholics who invest 90 minutes a week, can reap eternal rewards, starting now in this most unique year.
